Why do the models disagree?

Every forecast model uses slightly different physics, math, and starting data. Disagreement is normal, especially several days out — it's a useful signal of forecast confidence. Tight agreement means the atmosphere is in a predictable pattern; wide spread means it isn't, and you should plan with more caution.

Which model is the most accurate?

It depends on where you are and what you're forecasting. ECMWF is generally considered the global leader for medium-range forecasts; GFS is updated more frequently. Open-Meteo's "Best Match" blends multiple models. For your specific location, watch how each model performs over a few days and pick the one that matches reality best — Weather Source lets you set a default per location.

Where do the live station observations come from?

From METAR reports — the official observations issued by airports and automated stations worldwide, served by NOAA's Aviation Weather Center. Most stations update every hour; some update more often when conditions change.

Does Weather Source work without an internet connection?

The app shows the last forecast it downloaded for each saved location, but new forecasts and live station data require a connection.

I'm seeing the wrong location's weather

Open the location and confirm the name and region shown in the header. If they look wrong, remove and re-add the location by searching for it again on the home screen.

How do I change my default forecast model?

For all new locations, change the default in Settings → New Locations. For an individual location you've already saved, open it and tap the model chip in the top-right of the screen.

How do I hide a model from the Compare view?

Open Settings → Compare Models and toggle off any model you don't want to see. At least one model must remain enabled.
