Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 19, 2026

Weather Source is built to be private by default. This policy explains, in plain language, what data the app uses and what happens to it.

Data we don't collect

Weather Source has no accounts, no sign-up, and no login. There is no analytics framework, ad network, crash reporter, or tracking pixel in the app. There is no server operated by Weather Source that stores anything about you.

Data that stays on your device

The following information is created and stored exclusively on your iPhone or iPad, and never leaves it unless you have enabled iCloud sync at the operating-system level:

Data sent to third-party weather services

To fetch a forecast or list of nearby stations, the app sends a request that includes the coordinates of the location you're viewing. The recipient services are:

These services receive only the coordinates you're asking about. They may log the IP address of the network the request comes from, as any web service does. Weather Source does not control what those services log; please consult their own privacy policies for specifics.

Location permission

If you grant location permission, the app uses your device's location only to show a marker on the Stations map and to assist with adding nearby places. Your location is not transmitted to Weather Source itself, because there is no Weather Source server.

Children's privacy

Weather Source does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone, including children under 13, because it does not collect personal data at all. The app is not directed at children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date at the top of this page will change as well. Substantive changes will be highlighted here.
